Occupation:  I am currently in transition from Law Enforcement to full-time ministry.
Accomplishments:  Life!!  To live and be satisfied with where life takes me is the greatest accomplishment.  I was once so worried about what others thought and now realize it is my life to live.  That realization is also a great accomplishment.  I have traveled around the world.  My next trips include Africa and Australia.  I served in the military for seven years.  After that I went into Law Enforcement.  There, I was a member of the SWAT team, K9 Officer, Field Training Officer, Instructor Evaluator, Master Instructor through the New York State Bureau of Municipal Police, National Instructor for the National Highway Traffic Safety Association, School Resource Officer and various others.  I also have been ordained and am the Senior Pastor of a small church.

Accomplishments:  Finally deciding at age 35 what I wanted to be when I grew up.  After 16 years of being a nurse, I realized I enjoyed working with computers and, with much encouragement from my husband, I went back to school.  I am very proud to say I graduated this past May with a 4.0 GPA!

Occupation:  My current occupation is owner and general contractor of a custom home building business just outside of Washington, D.C. My husband starting building custom homes in the late 1980's in Great Falls, VA. We started working together in 1994 and incorporated the business in 1997. Accomplishments:  After graduating from Midlakes I attended Ithaca College and completed a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Art. During my 4 years there I completed research projects in Botany and Ecology and studied botanical illustration with displayed artwork in the local library. I received early acceptance to Virgina Tech and began my studies in Horticulture/Botany with research on various herbaceous perennials and their response to different light conditions on a cellular level. I worked various jobs during my stay at Tech such as illustrator for the County Extension Service and Master Gardener programs, field studies with the Virginia Highway Department's Highway Beautification program and anything that helped earn my way. After completing my thesis and graduating I moved to Sterling, VA and worked one of the largest and most prestigious plant nurseries in retail sales and landscape design.  In the evenings and days off I taught as adjunct faculty at the local community college (Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC, Loudoun Campus). Then I started my own landscape design and installation business and did that for 4 years. After my husband twisted my arm to work with him, and seeing the lucrative business of real estate and custom home building in the Washington, D.C. area, I started full time with our business in 1997. The rest is building codes, sticks, bricks, contracts and the occasional landscape design.
Community Service: Public speaking (landscape design, Horticulture, and Custom Home Building), member of Centennial Garden Club, Prince William Chamber of Commerce, Northern Virginia Home Building Association, Nation Home Building Association, Sigma Xi Science Research Foundation, Pi Alpha Xi Horticultural Research Foundation, Certified Nurseryman, Washington Speakers Bureau.
Most Important Lesson Learned Since High School: I would say the most important lesson I have learned since High School is...always trying to be proactive with our business, community, family and friends and never being satisfied with where I am. That keeps things moving in a positive direction, mentally, psychologically and spiritually.
Best Memory From High School:  I guess the best memory I have from High School is the exposure through cheerleading and theatre that gave me confidence and encouraged me in my current love of public speaking and presentations.

He is a terrific volleyball and softball player, wonderful with little kids and a great help around my house!  *Kara will accomplish whatever she puts her mind to. She danced competitively until 6th grade, was in a Roseland Commercial and attended a modeling expo. She plays soccer, softball, and basketball for Canandaigua Middle School and is also on the travel teams.  In her spare time, she plays violin, likes to babysit and is a social butterfly!  *Brandon is my child with the golden heart. He will do whatever it takes to make anyone happy. He is a funny boy, always making jokes.
